O.K,here's my 12-8-94 review at Speckles Theatre in San Diego.

This was truly not an average show. They pulled out a
couple of songs that were not played much during this period,
especially art the monotany of setlists that was occuring in the late
December shows.Alas I could not attend this show, but here's the tape
review. This is one show that relly turns out well on tape.

Makisupa Policeman:This is a surprising opener, but it seemed
to work really well. They really found a groove during this song, even
though it is usually hard to find it during Makisupa. They really took
Mike's bass and went with it,and turned if not an entirely original
Makisupa,but an enjoyable one.

     Maze:Well,it's maze.This has the usual spacey opening,seguing
into the jam, then into an energetic climax. The jam was run of the
mill,but nice all the same.

AC/DC Bag:They really found the energy flow here. This was real
funky, and Trey was so enthusiastic he forgot,"I'm runnin' so fast ,my
feet don't touch the ground!"Really cool.

     Scent Of A Mule:What can I say.The Page /Trey interplay was
great, and the piano jam/solo that was added into the middle awhile
back really improves the song.Best on Hoist, too.

Punch You In The Eye:Standard,w/ Landlady in the middle.Pretty
energetic.

Simple->Catapult->Simple:Another Simple.By the end of the
December tour ,I was starting to get mad at the excessive Simple
overuse. It's a great song,I just wish they wouldn't play it so damn
much.Still cool though.

Lizards:This got the crowd goin' it seems. The refrain if always a
dance booster.

Gently Weeps:This has become a standard,but it's a damn beautiful
song,and this is no exception.

SET 2

Possum:This was interesting.They started w/ a chugging motion for a
long time, then broke into the piano guitar buildup. The crowd went
nuts.Even newbies are starting to recognize this song.

My Mind's Got A Mind Of It's Own:This tune is always a treat,and
although some of the crowd seemed confused,it was it's familiar funny
self.

Axilla II:Alot of the crowd recognized this, and the place got crazy.

Reba:First part same as always.Jam:WOW!This is a great Reba.I really
enjoyed this jam.Really flowed.

Nellie Cane:I love this song more w/o mikes. This is a good version.

Sweet Adeline:This was great.The crowd wasn't that cooperative,but it
went well.Ican't say the same on the Fall 95' tour, when Fish has to
stop and tell people to quiet down.

Bowie:Just great.Bowie can do no wrong.Always a great jam.

Golgi Apparatus:This got the crowd all riled up once again.Great!

ENCORE:

Horse->Silent :This was a beautiful version.As usual,energy surge
during,"Just last year!"

Rocky Top:I love this song, and the guys went all out on this one.YES!
